In 2013, the Denver Architectural League solicited designs for an eight unit building with micro-apartments that range from 250 to 375 square feet, sited on a narrow stretch of riverbank in the sparse industrial neighborhood of River North on the outskirts of downtown Denver.

Our proposal included a series of prefabricated steel units, rotated along a central core to maximize views and privacy for the units.  An external structural framework between the units created habitable outdoor terraces and a substrate for vertical gardens and vegetation.  To engage the public realm, a pedestrian connection from the street to the river  encouraged visitors to the banks of the river and promoted community interaction with the site.
