Maria Paulina Pelaez

Architectural Designer

Maria grew up in Medellín, Colombia, where she earned a Bachelor of Architecture from the Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana. She moved to the United States to continue her education at the University of Virginia, earning her Master of Architecture in 2024. Through the Urban Design Certificate program, Maria lived in Barcelona for her semester abroad, fully immersing herself in the city’s rich architectural and cultural heritage. 

Her professional journey spans architectural and landscape architecture firms, in Colombia and Washington D.C, where she has focused on residential architecture, interior design, and urban design projects. Maria is committed to the training of future architects, holding teaching positions at the Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana, the University of Virginia, and CU Denver. She is a member of the American Institute of Architects Colorado Chapter and sits on the Regional and Urban Design Knowledge Community.
